This small sherd, also recovered from the Swift Creek midden, exhibits zoned rocker stamping. Narrow linear punctations define one edge of the rocker stamp, while it appears that an incised line defines the opposite edge. Rocker stamping is a decoration diagnostic of Hopewell pottery, and the presence of this sherd indicates a connection to contemporaneous populations in the Midwest.
